Important Stuff vs. Unimportant Stuff

Posted by Christy Larsen

From a movie, on the Hallmark Channel, was about 3 housewives who came from different walks of life and various problems. They got together and completed a housing project.  They put up the house for sale and the proceeds from the sale went to a homeless shelter.

One of the wives had a husband who was diagnosed with cancer and only had a short time to live.  He had a lot of wisdom that he shared with his wife.  They were an older couple and did not have any children.

This husband loved to grow a garden, and it didn't matter if it was a flower garden or vegetable garden.  He was concerned for his wife and wanted to share with her an analogy.  He took her into the garden where they stood on the dirt, and he said, "Just brush off all the little, insignificant problems that you are facing.  Brush them off of your arms and your legs into the dirt.  And forget about them."

Another Example:
A Latter-day Saint German woman, who experienced horrible trials, was asked the question, "How did you keep your testimony during all of the trials you went through?"

The German woman replied, "Oh, I didn't keep a testimony, my testimony kept me."
